Quercetin
Rolf Martin advocates eating blueberries, which contain lots of quercetin. Quercetin is a plant pigment (flavonoid) found in many foods, especially blueberries. It prevents the degradation of EGCG, which has many health benefits, including slowing the rate of transcription so protein misfolding is lessened. This reduces the rate of many age-associated diseases. In vitro and some animal models have shown that quercetin, a polyphenol derived from plants, has a wide range of biological actions including anti-carcinogenic, anti-inflammatory and antiviral activities; as well as attenuating lipid peroxidation. It may be a senolytic agent, killing senescent cells.
