SHORT NOTES: Eating animal fat increases pain;  Take your anti-oxidant vitamins regularly to delay Alzheimer’s and depression;

Better socioeconomic status reduces sarcopenia. [So does taking taurine!];   The world’s population will flatten by the close of the century around 10.9 billion people. Almost all increase will be in Africa; Beta-sitosterol in avocadoes and nuts lowers cholesterol and anxiety; Two opposing claims -  1: Soon humans will be able to live 1,000 years.  2 - "Ageing process is unstoppable."

LONG NOTES

Eating animal fat increases pain. A new clinical study shows omega-6 fats not only increase inflammation, but also cause increased pain that participants felt.  The Western diet has lots of omega-6 fatty acids, which are metabolized to form inflammatory signaling molecules which increase pain signals.  Fish oil has omega-3 fatty acids, which form anti-inflammatory signals.  What I recall is the Western diet has a ratio of about 6:1 omega-6 to omega-3, while a healthy paleodiet has a ratio of 2:1.

Take your anti-oxidant vitamins regularly to delay Alzheimer’s and depression. THE Analysis of Oxidative Stress Markers May Increase the Accuracy of the Differential Diagnosis of Alzheimer’s Disease with and without Depression

Better socioeconomic status reduces sarcopenia. [So does taking taurine!] Socioeconomic Inequality and Risk of Sarcopenia in Community-Dwelling Older Adults

The world’s population will flatten by the close of the century around 10.9 billion people. Almost all increase will be in Africa. Why? You guessed it – falling global fertility rates. The population – on average – will be getting considerably older moving from an average of 24 (1950) to 32 (now) to 42 (2100)

Beta-sitosterol in avocadoes and nuts lowers cholesterol and anxiety.  Scientists at Israel’s Weizmann Institute have been testing beta-sitosterol - a cholesterol lowering substance found in avocados and nuts. They believe it can also reduce anxiety without the side-effects that current anti-depressant medications have.

Two opposing claims face  biogerontologists -  Claim 1: Soon humans will be able to live 1,000 years.  Claim 2 - "Ageing process is unstoppable, finds unprecedented study."     Paper:  The rate of aging is relatively fixed in humans.
